Forums Updates July 2017

Some of you may have noticed that many aspects on the forum were broken. This was due to the webhost updating to a new version of PHP. To fix this, I had to upgrade the forum to a newer version. This upgrade required the removal of all the forum modifications, so it will take me some time to update...

Re: Forum Modification Log

The webhost just upgraded to a new version of PHP, breaking most aspects of the forum. To fix this, I had to upgrade the forum from 3.0.14 to 3.2.1 I had been avoiding this upgrade for a while because it breaks all the old mods and adds a new mod system. As such, all modifications are now gone and i...

Re: "Macromedia projector has stopped working"

No, but I think if you could roll back your computer to before the automatic windows update that broke things, you should be OK. This is a brand new PC built maybe 2 months ago if at all, so when NVidia drivers were installed it was already past several drivers that affect Adobe director I believe....

Re: Announcing my next project

The downloadable brochure talks a bit about planned features Ah, you should make the brochure much more prominent - it's very easy to miss that little link. 31 days isn't short, though. It's pretty standard. It's pretty standard for kickstarters that were heavily advertised ahead of time and are he...

Re: Announcing my next project

The MapForge Kickstarter campaign is now LIVE! Check it out! Great ;-) You set the duration pretty short again though. A more comprehensive list of intended features would be nice (things that aren't in the demo especially). Also, reading between the lines, it looks like the "Addon Format" is simil...

Re: Development Update

There might be hope that some company will buy Director from Adobe and continue developing it (just as Adobe once bought Director from Macromedia). Unlikely. Adobe only acquired Director because they bought the entire company (Macromedia). I doubt anyone would buy Director from them since it's been...

Re: Profile Information

Certain things, such as having too many URL bbcode tags in a post or signature, will cause the 403 forbidden error due to the webhost's anti-spam settings. There isn't a Xbox Live or GFWL ID field in the profile. Where are you trying to add them? I'll send you my email address via PM in case you'd l...

Re: Development Update

If anyone is curious what I've been up to the last few weeks, I've been prepping the Kickstarter campaign that will hopefully fund development of BRPG v2 and BGE v2. I expect to launch the campaign next week. Hoping to have it ready for review next Monday. It's shaping up nicely, I think. Your post...

Re: Latest Windows 10 update breaks BPRG?

Did you try right clicking the BG shortcut or executable and selecting "Run as administrator" ?

If that works, you can set it to always run as administrator by right clicking shortcut -> Properties -> Compatibility tab -> check "Run this program as administrator"

Re: Development Update

I just hope this next Kickstarter gets a lot more love than my first one, because the funding goal will be significantly higher. Well we'll have to make sure more people hear about it. Also, a version upgrade should appeal much more to people like me who weren't too excited about tokens that they d...

Re: All components and game boards load as question marks?

BGE's imported media is stored in a cast file located at: "\Support Files\User Media.cxt" If you still have your old cast file, then just copy it over. If you lost your old cast file, you can reimport your old files if you still have them by adding them to a blank encounter. If the file names are th...

Re: Software Preview Video released

The Zoom widget could have been significantly smaller, but I made it the same size as the Unit widget for consistency. There's probably room for improvement, to be sure. I wasn't saying it needed to be smaller, just that the gray background wasn't necessary and would look a lot better transparent. ...

Re: Software Preview Video released

Nice. I like the improved group feature. As you no doubt recall, that was one of the first features I suggested for BG. I also like the widgets, though it's a shame they weren't made in Flash :P The main problem I see with the widgets is the ugly gray background - it covers a lot more of the map tha...

Re: Latest Site Updates

Two problems with that: 1) I wanted to keep it to around a minute in length. 2) It's all edited to the beat of the music, which I've already paid the license for, and it would be a tremendous effort to re-time the whole thing. I realize most people will miss some of the content, but it's easy enoug...

Re: Latest Site Updates

I've released a “cinematic-style” teaser trailer intended to help promote BRPG. Check it out here . Then I’d appreciate it if you would help me get the word out by sharing the link on your social media feeds. The frame transition effects combined with the short duration of each frame make it imposs...

Windows Explorer is indeed unable to open it, probably due to the odd ./ in the folder path name.

winRAR opens it just fine.

I rezipped it for you in case you still need it:

Re: Development Update

Great! 8) Working on these little mini-projects also help me learn the ins and outs of the new (to me) Adobe Director version, which I will be using to create all future releases of BRPG and BGE (pending a successful Kickstarter campaign). Feels damn good to finally be compiling apps that run on mod...

I never got as far as launching the server. :( The posted instructions where? The digitalocean tutorial I posted was for an Ubuntu linux VPS I've set up TS3 servers on both Win...

Re: BG and Voice Chat?

I also got a Ventrilo client set up, but have been unable to get the server to work properly. Since the Ventrilo server is WIndows-only, I am running it on my WIndows virtual machine. I set up port-forwarding for it on my router, but since my Mac and my Windows VM share the same internal IP address...
