Re: And we are back! woot!

I'm assuming I'll need the run the DM client on my laptop and then also run a player client on a seperate window on my 40" LED TV? Does that sound possible? Certainly. To run two instances of BG on the same computer, you will have to extract it twice into two separate BG folders, and then rename th...

Re: Turn Sequencer

I think the idea of allowing formulas in the turn sequencer is really interesting and would add a lot of flexibility for those who want it (and could be ignored by those who don't). The small simple thing that I would like to see (which I'm sure is not at all small or simple to do) would be to be a...

Re: Forum Issues December 2013

Just added back the ability to search for posts from the last 24 hours:
http://battlegroundsgames.com/forums/se ... id=lastday

A link to it is currently just below the search box. (As long as you check in every day it's the most reliable way to find new posts.)

Re: Forum Issues December 2013

The forum conversion is complete. You may notice that some things, such as the colors, are a bit off and will need to be fixed, but everything seems to be functional at the moment. I'll modify the forum template to better match the old one eventually. One of the only big annoyances that I've noticed...

Keep in mind that "reinstalling" doesn't remove your preferences and license files. You might consider deleting (or temporarily removing) your preferences file to see if that was somehow corrupted. Refer to this thread for how to delete your prefs: http://battlegroundsgames.com/forums/viewtopic.php?...

Was busy the last couple weeks and today when I went to do the upgrade I found that the upgrade script was also broken by the new PHP, so I'll have to do the conversion on another server then transfer it over. :P
Therefore expect it to take a bit longer.

If I make the game in the demo, and then purchase the full version, will I have to make the game over again or can I port it over? I don't recall what the demo limitations for BGE are exactly, so I'm not sure whether it is actually possible to make game conversions in the demo. I think the limitati...

Re: Star Trek Attack Wing?

The biggest thing is being able to place movement templates and rotate ships in any direction. Those things can both be done in BGE. There's a free demo of BGE and some free boardgame conversions you can use with it on the downloads page if you'd like to test out how it works. http://battlegroundsg...

And I hope that after the update, we will have less issues with spambots posting here. Heheh, probably not. This forum is actually extremely resilient to spam. I'll likely have to mod it again just to make it as good as this script at stopping them. That's the price of being highly placed on google...

Forum Issues Dec2013-Jan2014 [RESOLVED]

EDIT: The conversion is complete, see below. My webhost just upgraded the server to the latest version of php with very little warning, breaking many features on this rather old forum script. I have bandaid-fixed a few things, but all plugin-related features such as Attachments and guest-posting ar...

Glad I could help ;-) I used to use Ultramon but haven't needed it with Windows 8 since the core multi-monitor support has been good enough for me. Will probably put it back on my Win7 PC eventually though.

Well haven't tried BGE recently but BRPG (which should behave similarly) runs fine for me on Windows 8.0 Have you tried disabling one of your monitors before launching? It sounds like BG is having trouble finding the edge of your monitors and the main window is likely opening off screen. Does BG app...

Re: Best practices for dealing with map transfers

This method is obviously not suitable for face-to-face game sessions where there is no internet access available (e.g., in a basement). Pfft, where's this caveman with no internet in his basement? ;-) If your map is available online, or if you have some server space where you can upload the map to,...

Wondering if the image would be flipped so that text would be reversed, though. I've seen software out there that can do horizontal flips (mirroring) on your PC video output, though I don't know one off the top of my head. Would likely need to be a pretty big mirror though to catch the whole image....

Display: 24-bit color Resolution: 1024 x 768 From the PC's point of view, there is no difference between a projector and any other monitor. Higher resolution will create nicer looking images, but will make things smaller and harder to see if you have a small monitor/projector screen. On the other h...

I suggest temporarily removing your User_Cast file (and replacing it with a renamed copy of Blank Cast.cxt) to see if it's a problem with an imported graphic. If the encounter loads successfully (without the graphics, of course) you can then try reimporting your graphics to see if you can duplicate ...
