Re: Back after a few years of doing other stuff :)

Welcome back ;-)
My impression is that not much as changed. heruca has apparently been busy with other projects and has mostly been sticking to stability-related patches for BRPG, though BGE has gotten some new features.

Re: Lfp/gm One Piece D20

Welcome SerRandom. I recommend you also post on some of the One PIece fan sites, as there are plenty of those out there. You may be able to find some people who are new to roleplaying but who enjoy the manga enough to try it out, or you might get lucky and find an existing group. Is this the ruleset...

Re: Hope this isnt the wrong forum for questions

I think one was posted on the forum somewhere already, though they aren't hard to make. Keep in mind that automated grid functions such as snap-to-grid and bases won't match a vertical hex grid, though it'll work fine if you can play without those features. You can place custom grids of any size as ...

Re: Shadows of Brimstone?

Does the table background size have any impact on sprites? No, it shouldn't, unless you're using a lot of sprites on background tiles. I noticed also that it's not possible to select a unit before opening the unit manager & having it selected in the menu if it's a Tile. That's the way tiles were in...

Re: Have to keep going to the license menu

I have multiple instances of the same program in different folders, one for each game. Make sure you're using different .exe file names for each instance to ensure they each get their own profile folder (then re-activate the renamed one). Note that you can't connect to yourself if using the same li...

Re: Have to keep going to the license menu

Sounds like it is failing to save or access your license information for some reason.
What OS/environment are you running under?
Which version of BGE?
You only have one instance of the BGE executable (.exe) that you are using on that computer, correct?

Havent some people gotten BG working on newer versions of Mac using emulators? I am not a Mac user but I thought I read someone posting about that.

Re: Which Version of BGE Is The Most Stable?

BGE and BRPG are two different programs. BGE emphasizes boardgames, wargames, and cardgames and is substantially less expensive than BRPG. It is designed not to necessarily need a gamemaster / referee and can be played competitively with two people. http://battlegroundsgames.com/nutshellbge.html BRP...

Ah, well I haven't tested the latest version but that folder worked fine when I tested it back in BGE 1.3 :P

Re: Dice Roll Modifier table

I have spent some time trying to get my head around the Adobe ecosystem of Flash, Flex, Air, MXML, Actionscript (2/3), Flex/Flash builder etc., and now think I have a grasp of things. I initially would probably code things in Flash, largely because I already have Flash Pro 5. If I decide to move to...

Re: Dice Roll Modifier table

Heh, yeah when you brought up this feature I immediately thought of mentioning Flash extensions like I usually do. :P You could certainly create your own flash-based dice roller (with modifier feature) for use in BG, but as you guessed it would not be able to integrate with any BG features aside fro...

Re: Selection Box around components

I'm a BRPG user so I wasn't all that familiar with BGE. In BRPG there is a distinction between "Figures" (characters & such) and "Objects". Figures have selection highlights but objects do not. Apparently BGE has the same sort of distinction: Minis are used to represent the characters, troops, anima...

Re: More deck options: No Shuffle, and Draw Select Card

This is what I see when using the standard playing card deck included with BGE: http://allinyourmind.net/images/BRPG/BG_draw_specific_card.png As you can see, it shows the card names. I've never played with the custom card deck feature before so I don't know how to get custom decks to do that. Chec...

Re: Token/Compnent status enhancement

Hi, I would be happy to see it either way (and an API of whatever description). Maybe the best of both worlds solution would be a basic mechanism to allow the user to ...

Re: More deck options: No Shuffle, and Draw Select Card

It looks to be like you can draw a specific card out of the deck using the double-click context menu on the card deck. It just shows the card names though; there isn't a preview window like you wanted.

Re: Selection Box around components

Go to the first page of your preferences and set "Movement Guide" to "On". This will show numbers around the currently selected unit. I'm not sure offhand whether BGE has any other unit selection highlight features like BRPG does, but the movement guide is what I use personally anyway. Single-click ...
