Yep, it's my fault. I put quotes around his name...just for effect; it's a nickname that the PCs know him by, rather than his real name. I guess having looked at the format for encounter files before, I really should have known that quotes wouldn't be allowed, but since BRPG allowed me to type them ...

Encounter data not valid. Aborting.

That's the message I get when loading an encounter I just spent 3 hours making. :x And it's the second time I've tried to build this encounter. I thought I screwed it up the first time, so I patiently rebuilt it......grrrrr. Can you see if you can figure out what I did wrong, or if it's a bug? Thanks.

The encounter was updated several days ago; it was Exported just last night, so it was done after the autoupdate.

Yes, it would have originally been created early in the 1.6 line, then auto-updated. I thought creating a new save of it in 1.6i would correct any problem with having created it originally in a version with that bug though. No?

Large object-as-map grid movement problem

With a large object-as-map like in the encounter I posted last night, with Snap-to-Grid enabled, the closer you go to the edge of the 'map', the more difficult it is to drag-and-drop tokens. They show a distinct avoidance of the hex grid you are trying to put them in, and instead like to go into any...

The Encounter file seems to have lost the link to the media asset bundle. That's why it didn't auto-load for the connected player clients. It auto-imported fine once I edited the Encounter file in a text editor to re-establish the link by specifying the name of the bundle file. Then that means 1.6i...

Large Object never auto-imported from a Media Asset Bundle

Tried this tonight due to it being a large map (4000 pixels wide), being used as an Object rather than a map. No FoW. 3 of 3 client machines would not import the bundle when the encounter was loaded. They had to exit and manually import the assets. Same thing with another encounter. It was also brut...

If you want, I can change the default behavior so that when pasting a unit, it will retain its hidden or shown status, regardless of whether you are hosting a game or not. I would prefer it that way, personally, but perhaps if a few more people posted their opinions it would add support one way or ...

Hmmm. Interesting. Actually, it only happens when the GM is not hosting. When hosting, the Hidden status is retained. I was just setting up an encounter prior to gaming last night when I encountered this behavior. I would consider it a bug, either way; why would the behavior be different when hostin...

Copy/Pasted units don't retain Hidden status

Title pretty much says it all. Hidden units become Visible if you copy and paste them.

He appears to be right. A Looping sound doesn't appear to stop properly on a connected client, even after hitting 'cancel' on the send audio page from the GM client. I tried sending a new sounds, and I also tried unchecking the looping checkbox. Last method doesn't work because once you hit 'send', ...

No, no script errors for me on dice macros. Last night's session on 1.6h was over 250 die rolls, and no script errors.

I generally play with dice roll animation off, but I turned it back on this morning just to test and still could not produce any errors with a client attached. Both on Win7_x64.

Yep; black text on a grey background isn't that great for readability. How much different does it look on WinXP or a Mac?

hmmmm.....may have to rescind this one. Can't duplicate it now, even though I did it like 12 times in a row before, and I haven't restarted BRPG since then. Something weird is going on.

Script Error on clients when transferring token ownership

Changing the ownership on a token in 1.6h seems to generate a script error on an attached client computer now.....FYI.. :)

This is still a problem in 1.6h. Alternate tokens which are not the currently-selected token, and are not part of an artpack, do not appear to be transferring properly, and are causing script errors when the token is switched after the client has joined. I can create a very simple encounter to dupli...

Confirmed fixed in 1.6h. It now shows the correct recipient. This is good enough. I personally would like it to revert back to "Everyone" after closing and reopening the Dice Macro window, but this may not be a preference for everyone. The vast majority of rolls go to Everyone when we play; I usuall...

...a tactical map would need to be a minimum of 120 cells by 120 cells (hexes probably). :D Yea! Someone else calling for bigger maps, too! (not that it helps to make it happen in v1.x with the Director limitation on FoW/overlays). Tiles work to a limited extent, but they're less than ideal for som...

Do you know if the same holds true for Windows 7? Windows 7 uses the same file location for BRPG preferences as Vista. I'm not 100% if the entire folder structure for the OS is the same, since I've never done a comprehensive side-by-side comparison, but it's close if it isn't identical. I'd be surp...

I like it. I would consider it to possibly be one of a series of changes to BRPG in working towards a more polished look. No personal insult intended, but that is one of the areas where a few of your competitor VTTs have an advantage over you, and it's mostly due to the fact that they've simply been...

View Manager menu item disappears when Command Window open

When the Command Window is open, a number of items that are normally in the 'B' menu transplant to the Command Window. The View Manager appears as if it was intended to be one of these, but it just disappears from both menus when the Command Window is open. I'm pretty sure I'm not just missing it......

Out of curiosity, is there some reason you used the free version of DevilDan's Minotaur instead of the retouched ones from the BRPG artpack? Well, first of all, it came out when I was out of town and really busy at work. It kind of got forgotten about. Mentally, it wasn't a priority simply because ...
