Now accepting pre-orders for BRPG!

Post by heruca » Mon Feb 27, 2006 3:03 pm

A lot of you have been waiting for this, judging from your posts.

To everyone that does pre-order, I want to thank you for supporting my product and it's continued development. I realize that despite the bugs in the current beta, and the fact that many features are still missing or incomplete, you're trusting me that those issues will be resolved by the time BRPG ships, and that means a lot to me.

One caveat: Please read the newly-revised Licenses page before purchasing anything.

http://www.battlegroundsgames.com/licenses.html

I mention this because one key change I've had to make is that since the software's license will be tied to a particular computer* in order to prevent piracy, you will not be able to hop back and forth between platforms/OSes, as originally planned. Not many people will be affected by this, I imagine, since most households are either all-Windows or all-Mac, but I wanted to mention it anyway.

* Technically, the software is tied to your computer's network card during the authorization process. If you eventually upgrade your computer, you'll need to reauthorize your license.

(Edited the last paragraph)

Have split the Licensing discussion into the Feedback forum so the message doesn't get confused. Feel free to further that discussion there.

At the time I ordered, you were the only verified buyer on his paypal account.

So unless someone ordered since then, we are the only ones so far.

Hasn't been long though. I'm sure some people just haven't checked the forum.

heruca also should send out an email to everyone in the forum about it.

I purchased a GM client at approximately 7:00 EST. What place does that put me in?

There's been about 6 orders so far. It's a decent start, considering I haven't made a widespread announcement yet (I'm waiting until I fix a couple of important bugs before I do so).

I'd preorder but you need cash for that ... do you have a layaway option? Monthly payment plans? Free copies for reviewers? :?

Also, if the random drawing of forum members for a free copy is still in effect, another good reason for me to lay off the Visa.

The random drawing certainly is still in effect. Feeling lucky? :)

Well heruca has a merchant account, so you can just use a credit card.

If you have a paypal account already though, you should use it. heruca gets more money from it if you do.

(Paypal, like most banking companies, charges extra for use of credit cards)
