BUG: Free floating kills rotation

Post by cliff » Thu Jun 12, 2008 10:29 pm

Found a bug, if you drop an object (I hit it with doors) and rotate it 90 degrees to be vertically aligned and then switch it to free floating to place it it loses the rotation as soon as you switch to free floating mode. When you switch back out of free floating mode it goes back to the rotation it was set to, but that can make it difficult to place doors.

Turning off snap to grid looks like the correct way to do what I was wanting to do, but it's probably still worth knowing that free floating and rotation don't co-exist.

I actually coded it specifically to turn off rotation on Free Floating objects. Wish I could remember why, now. Perhaps it's because I intended it for things like map legends and reference charts, which would look silly rotated at an angle.

And in v1.0.6, I made Free Floating objects ignore snap-to-grid, even if it's on.

If you really need to rotate it, you can still do so via the "Edit Object" panel, with the rotation slider.
