Flash Figure/Object Name (1.4c / v1.4f)

Post by Omnidon » Mon Mar 09, 2009 2:40 am

It seems that attempting to place Flash figures or objects results in a non-fatal script error. Even old friends like Squidy are affected.

This is new to the 1.4 series, since I went back and tried 1.3f and it was fine.

I'm guessing this error is caused by the unit name text field in the unit placement panel, since it stays empty instead of showing a default name for every Flash unit except the Flash Clock, which is the only one that doesn't get the script error.

This bug (or something similar) seems to be back with a vengeance in 1.4f

Placing any flash unit except the clock once again results in a script error with a missing unit name. However, this time the script error is fatal (cannot be bypassed, just keeps popping back up).

It looks like there also may be something wrong with the transparency now, since the units are appearing with backgrounds, although that may just be a result of the initial error.

Bug confirmed. The error is occurring in a line of code prior to the one where the transparency is set for the Flash sprite, so the transparency code is never getting used.

Omnidon, I'll be fixing this and getting the fix to you privately, so that we can continue to work on Flash-related functionality.

Sorry to confuse you. I was referring to flash transparency only. ;-)

It seems you forgot to include this fix in 1.4g

I had some data loss after sending you those files, Omnidon. Guess I forgot to re-do that particular bug fix.
