Visual Aid crashed the program
Posted: Tue Mar 25, 2008 12:15 pm
I tried to send my players a visual aid, which was a 600K jpg of an area map. That crashed BG. It locked up and wouldn't respond. When I tried to close the program, it just never closed. I had to go into Task Manager and end the process. After that I couldn't get BG to open until I restarted my computer.
I'm running Windows XP and using BG 1.2

Could you please email me that visual aid image, so I can run some tests? It may be that your visual aid's file size "ballooned" upon import. Once the visual aid is loaded, it looses any JPG compression it may have had, and possibly grew to over 2 MBs, which is the maximum size that BRPG can successfully transfer.
Were you able to successfully send the visual aid after you rebooted and re-hosted the session?
Edit: You might also consider sending the visual aid as a map (after saving and or clearing any deployed tokens), so that even if it exceeds 2 MBs after import, it will still transfer.
