Get a log file of the game

Post by hoihoi8 » Wed Oct 22, 2014 4:17 am

Hello,
I'd like to compile and analyze data from the games I'm playing to help with balancing.

Is there a log file that I could save after every game with all the game moves listed?

e.g.
Card Drawn - "Card Title"
Card Discarded - "Card Title"
...
etc

Thanks :)

Yes, in the Chat window. See pg. 83-85 of the BGE User Manual.

Of particular interest:
"Double-clicking on the chat output pane will copy the contents of the chat output pane into the clipboard (i.e., into RAM), so that you can paste the content into a word processing app like NotePad, TextEdit, or MS Word, in order to keep a Chat Log of the game session."

I know that flipped/discarded cards are included in the Chat log as system messages, but I don't think that happens for cards in the game table window. I suggest you check and see to be sure.
