Hmm, how come I don't see this topic in the New Posts since last Visit?

That depends. If you logged out and then back in, that would reset your 'visit'.

If you want it to remember which posts are unread between sessions, you can set that in your Preferences.

Also, once you've viewed the new post, it is no longer considered New on this mod. That is different from standard phpBB2, which only resets the unread flags when you log out.

I generally leave a tab with the search results open while I'm browsing the new posts, in case I need to go back to a thread.

I guess it must be the mod. I'm used to seeing my own posts in the latest posts, but if I reply and then go immediately to View new posts, it's not there.

Yeah, that's the mod.

They decided to make it 'smart' by keeping track of which posts you've viewed during this session. This was in order to allow features such as the ability to set posts unread and to store which posts are unread between sessions, but I agree that it's not necessarily an improvement.

I don't see any way to disable that though unfortunately.
As I said, I just leave the initial "View posts since last visit" search results open after I log in. If you need to find your own posts, you can use "View my posts".

I do the latter, but it is annoying not to see the topic you just replied to in the new posts listing, lol.

No biggie, as long as it's not a bug ;)

As mentioned here, the requested feature has been added.

Dunno if it's related, but now the yellow highlights and 'go to first unread' arrows and such disappear from my view after I look at my first unread post of the visit... A blocked cookie, maybe?

I get the same thing - I click on the 'view new' button, and get the list, click on the first one, read that one, go back - and then, when I try to click on the next one, I get a message saying there's no new messages since my last visit.

Somewhat annoying, but not a biggie.

So you're saying that as soon as you view any unread post, it marks all of the others as read before you've read them?

Yep, that would be it.

It seems to be an issue with the "Keep messages unread" setting, which does use a cookie.

I set the default back to "No".

Works for me as well. Well done, Omni!
