Textual errors

Hi,

Opened this thread to tell Heruca about possible textual errors you find on his site ...

- below the screenshots you mention the GM Syndicate as Gamemaster's Syndicate. The correct name is GameMaster Syndicate

Thanks for the heads-up. It's fixed now.

I always thought it was (the) "GM's Syndicate" (pluaral instead of singluar) ... who needs all the rest of that gobbledegook anyway =P

=P Since it's changed names so damn many times in the past 6 months, I just call it The Synd.

Found one...

On the Features page it mentions a "HELFUL USER MANUAL" instead of "Helpful." Both the link at the top and the header down the page read thusly...

Perhaps it is "hellful" Mwahahahahahaaaaa

I had considered that, and it made me chuckle...

Oh, and found some more (can you tell I'm a drop-out English major...):

In the DICE ROLLER section, "...by inputing a formula..." inputting should have two t's

In the COMPREHENSIVE TEXT CHAT SYSTEM section, "The GM can also chose to..." choose should have two o's

In the FOG OF WAR section, "...(eg, traps and secret doors)..." e.g. usually has periods, otherwise it kind of looks like "egg" was misspelled

In the TIME-SAVING IMAGING TOOLS section, "A realtime preview..." usually is real-time

Thank you very much, Erian. I hate typos, especially on a commercial web site. Makes it look very unprofessional.

I've been over that text so many times, I thought it was finally typo-free. The problem is, I learned to spell those words wrong (except for "helpful").

It's also nice to see that some people are actually reading the text, not just looking at the pictures. :)

I've got to get out the message that folks from the South can actually read...

Really, for the size of the site, to have found so few items (considering your primary focus is app development rather than website creation) is pretty good.

I did find a few more... :D

On the Overview page, under the OTHER POTENTIAL USES section, "...with a little imagination it could also be used for other types of online colaboration..." collaboration has two l's

On the Links page, "...the fact that a product or site is listed here does not necesarily ..." necessarily has two s's

Oh, and there are a lot of "eg" items in the License page just itchin' for some punctuation.

Thanks again, all fixed now.

Sorry, I went to public schools in northern Virginia. 'Nuff said. :)

Hey, that's not a good excuse--VA usually ranks somewhere in the top 10 for public education while AL is always fighting it out with the likes of MS and NV for a slot in the bottom 10! :?

I was born in Norfolk, so maybe I carried some "smart" down here with me, although in truth, I think it has more to do with me having traits of obsessive-compulsive disorder...

EDIT: Oh, and before I catch some flack about it, I'm sure I'll be dropping typos left and right in the forums! Maybe once heruca gets some free time (yeah, that's gonna happen!) he can work in a Spelling Cow component to the forums (along with a Dice roller, and the ability to do Secret text, and subfolders for PbP games, and... )

LOL, so did I Heruca. I grew up in Manassas, and lived in Fairfax, Ashburn, Leesburg, Reston, Herndon. But now I'm out on the west coast.

BAH! I think it has more to do with what you spent your time doing -- and NOT doing -- during school :)

Scrotok! Good to see you on here!

Just so you all know, Scrotok is a long-time friend and one of my old gaming buddies. A big part of the reason I started working on this project in the first place (back when it was a GURPS-only program) was so I could game with him and the rest of our little gang again after we all moved away. He's also directly responsible for me not paying enough attention in school. :P

Have you gotten the 4th Edition books yet? I'm planning on ordering them very soon. I really like the changes they've made to the system.
