Mac Lion Won't run Battlegrounds

Post by Wisp » Thu Oct 27, 2011 9:34 pm

I downloaded the RPG edition demo and when I try to launch it I get this message:

You can't open the application Battlegrounds RPG Edition because PowerPC applications are no longer supported

???? What do I need to do here? I saw nothing in the installation instructions.

Thanks

That's right, BRPG won't run under Lion (Mac OS X v10.7).
System Requirements wrote:Macintosh OS X:
¢ Power Macintosh G3 running OS 10.1.5 through 10.6
¢ Rosetta must be installed on Intel-based Macs (note that in OS 10.6, aka Snow Leopard, the option to install Rosetta is off by default); Rosetta is not available in OS 10.7 (Lion), so BRPG will not function in that OS, barring the use of Parallels or the like.
You could run it under Windows using Boot Camp, Parallels, Fusion, etc.

Or perhaps you could have a Snow Leopard boot partition on your hard drive?

Wish I could promise a Lion-native version in the future, but at this time, I can't. I guess it's always possible that someone will come up with some sort of Rosetta emulator for Lion...

To be honest, I have no idea. If someone has downloaded and installed Crossover, they might want to try following the instructions here.
