Figure Bases

This is the place to post things like custom hexsheets, dice images, etc. If it isn't a figure, map, or object, it probably belongs here.

I'll be using this thread to post contact sheets of the bases I have thus far (314 to be exact). They are in a hexagonal shape right now, as it's easiest to start from a hex and work toward squares and circles. heruca, you've got first shot at any of these you want to use in BRPG or your wargame app.

As a note, the reason I like multiple base options is because it helps differentiate (and group) figs visually during an online game. So all the flying creatures get Sky bases, with different Sky patterns for the grunts, casters, and leader, while all the fire creatures get the Lava bases, etc.

Thanks! As heruca knows, I got real bored on the run-up to Christmas here at work... :lol:

I'm particularly happy with a lot of those textures. I dug through a ton of free 3d object packages and pulled out textures/patterns that looked useful (I'm not brave enough to try my hand at 3d modeling yet...).

Many can be used in walls, floors, etc., as a lot of them are tileable patterns Also found a lot of alpha-channel bump maps to create neat items like woven leather, chain links, bricks, etc.

Excellent stuff, Erian!

::applause::

I especially like the Transparent Glass bases, because I was thinking they could be used to indicate NPC demeanor towards the PCs: red for hostile, green for friendly, and blue (or grey) for neutral.

I can see that I'll eventually have to make the bases and dice fully customizable by having system-level folders for users to place their graphics of choice into. The same goes for the grid overlays, so people could make numbered grids, or grids with centerpoints, in various colors, etc.

wow those are great-I only have one noobish question-how do you take them from the page they are saved on and make them individiual hexes?
With Photoshop or the Gimp?

I've got PNG files (and PSDs for that matter) of every one--these are just JPEG contact sheets. You could use GIMP or PS to cut them out, but I'll shoot you any you'd like (can't store PNGs on my site) in higher resolution.

LOL, this is nothing. Just wait until I open the dice images up to user-modding.

Can't wait until this thread gets to page 2. Page 1 takes forever to load.
