More Screenshots

This series of screenshots focuses more on the User Interface. Only one of these panels is displayed at any one time in BRPG, to avoid screen clutter (exception: the Chat window can be shown at the same time that another panel is showing).

These screenshots were taken on a Macintosh computer, so the interactive controls pictured are in Apple's Aqua style. When BRPG is run on a Windows PC, the controls will look like native Windows controls, and will reflect any user-selected Windows desktop theme (Hint: this can be a quick way to "skin" the program to your liking; just change desktop theme to reflect your chosen genre!).

Click on a thumbnail image to view the picture full size in a new window.

More screenshots coming soon. And videos, too!

11. Dice Roller 12. Change Map
Rolls up to 9 dice at a time, with modifiers ranging from -20 to +20. The modifier can be applied to the total rolled or to each die. Shows a thumbnail Preview, so you can scan through your map collection, which is organized via the folder hierarchy at the system level.

13. Send Visual Aid 14. Send Audio
Once you know how to change the map, you also know how to send a visual aid... ...or an audio clip. You can hear an audio preview before sending, to make sure you've chosen the right sound effect or music clip. The final version will probably let you select at what volume the sound should play, and whether or not to loop the sound continuously.

15. Consult Charts & Tables 16. Preferences
Seeing a pattern here? We told you this was easy to use! This will likely be a tabbed window in it's final version, for access to even more ways to customize BRPG.

17. Contextual Menu 18. Deploy Figure
Double-clicking on a cell (a square or a hex) gives you these options. Note that the cell highlights, which helps you remember where your new item will be placed while you go through the next two steps. This is where you select the figure you want to place on the map.

The panel for placing an object is exactly the same.

19. Unit Settings
When you deploy a unit, you'll be taken to this screen, where you can specify how BRPG should use your seleted image. These controls save you the time and effort of having to prepare the graphics beforehand in a graphics-editing program. If you've used a particular image before, your prior defaults will be filled in for you. When you click OK, the figure or object is placed on the map in hidden mode until you choose to reveal it. Hint: Let's suppose you have a rat graphic, for example. Just deploy it again with different unit settings and you can have both a giant rat and a regular rat on your map.

20. Turn Sequence 21. Fog of War
This screen tracks what game turn it is, and whose turn it is to act (indicated by the green highlight). You can easily rearrange the acting order of the characters by selecting a figure and using the arrow controls on the right. In this example, Damian, who has been severely wounded by the assassins, is about to be moved down a couple of slots on the list. This screen is used by the GM when he wants the map to be gradually revealed as the PCs explore the area.

The Fog of War feature is typically used in indoor Encounters, such as a cave or dungeon, or in outdoor Encounters that take place at night.

22. Alternate Die Roller 23. Unit Manager
This is simply a more graphical version of the basic die roller panel, which you can use if you prefer. This screen is used by the GM to control the stacking order of units on the map, and to adjust various settings from one central location. Selecting a unit on this panel will auto-center the unit on the GM's map.

24. Chat Window
This window appears only after hosting or joining a game session. It can thereafter be toggled (shown or hidden) with the TAB key.

This panel or function is only available in the GM Client.
